Facebook experienced technical difficulties yesterday for around 20mins and caused the social media network to go into an absolute frenzy, leaving users unable to access the site.
Users that were unable to access their account sought refuge on competitor platform Twitter to vent their complaints. Others flocked to outlets like Buzzfeed for comfort as the website tweeted funny cat videos to help users faced with the impending doom of boredom.
Whilst only a temporary hiccup, this technological mishap begs the question: Are we addicted to social media?
Surely with the busyness of our daily lives, we should be able to cope for 20mins without checking how many people ‘liked’ our post about Beyonce’s latest music video.
