Last week Redhotblue welcomed high school, work experience student, Matt Sanders, into the team for the week. Matt came to Redhotblue with an interest in getting to know the design industry and seeing what working life was really like in a creative studio. Here’s an insight into Matt’s time with the Redhotblue crew!
“Over the last three days I attended a work placement at Redhotblue Creative Agency, and honestly, I had a lot of fun. The staff at Redhotblue gave me my own tasks to complete to see how I do with an actual design assignment. After I finished each task I sat down with Creative Director, Scott Turner, and we talked about what I did and why. This proved very helpful for me because I got the chance to get proper feedback from an actual designer.
Scott also taught me about a proper design concept and that my most useful asset is a creative mind. I also got the chance to see and use the programs that they use at Redhotblue, hopefully this will help me to prepare for the future if I do decide to pursue a career in design.
The environment at Redhotblue was a lot more fun and friendly then I expected, everyone was talking to each other, helping each other, and even when it was busy and a bit stressful, everyone still found a reason to laugh. The staff were so friendly and helpful, if I had any problems I could just ask them for help, and they were all so easy to talk to.
Along with all the fun, Red Hot Blue has given me a lot of great experience, and I intend to use it to its fullest. Seeing how everyone works has given me a much better idea of how the design industry works, the fun parts, the stressful parts, and what it is that everyone does.
Overall I had a great time, I learnt so much, had a lot of fun, and I would love to come back here some time if I had the chance.”
We were impressed with Matt’s work and the image attached is one of the logos that he worked on
