What’s in a colour?

As one of the most important tools in effective and strategic graphic design and brand development, colour plays an important part in influencing an audience.

When creating a face for a business, great consideration is taken into regarding the psychology of the colours. Not only do we think about how the colour will make you feel but how they will be remembered or perceived. Ever noticed how most fast food chains (like McDonalds and Hungry Jacks) are consistently yellow and red? These colours are proven to make you feel hungrier. Intrigued?

Let’s take a minute to explore a couple of colours in more detail. Red, for example, is a strong colour often associated with “stop” or “beware”. It evokes a powerful emotion of passion, lust, energy, blood and war. Whereas green can reflect nature and health, growth, money and fertility.
