PHN Northern Queensland, DV Taskforce + Queensland Police

Funded and supported by PHN Northern Queensland, DV Taskforce Mackay and Queensland Police, we designed and developed three social awareness and education campaigns to encourage community behavioural change.

The ‘Heat Kills’ campaign for Queensland Police reminded audiences of how quickly temperatures can rise in cars and the resulting danger for children. We purposefully created this campaign using confronting imagery and the campaign won gold at the QLD Multimedia Awards for its powerful visual messaging.

The ‘Anger Rage Regret’ campaign for PHN Northern Queensland was targeted at young males to raise awareness of the consequences of assaults in non-licensed locations. It highlighted the known triggers and connection between the emotions of anger, rage, and the resulting feelings of regret. The campaign included merchandise elements of reusable coffee cups, water bottles, stubby coolers, wrist bands and USBs, as well as business cards.

The ‘Hidden Faces of Domestic Violence’ campaign for the DV Taskforce Mackay highlighted that 1 in 3 children who are exposed to the various forms of domestic violence. These children often become victims or perpetrators later in life. The campaign focused on building awareness and educating potential perpetrators and the public, with digital and outdoor billboards, posters, and video.

All campaigns have focused on educating the public, building social awareness and encouraging behavioural change in the community through advertising, marketing, and branded merchandising.
